A Prayer Request
This is the last thing I would ever normally do on my blog, but I'm just terrified enough that it seemed like a good idea. Trust me, I don't plan to do it again if I can help it.
Most of my regular readers are familiar with Cosmo, my Unfamiliar. He's been with me for eleven years and is in many ways my fuzzy better half. A few days ago he stopped eating, and I took him to the vet this morning where I was informed he has to have surgery: they must remove three of his teeth that are rotten to the point of infection. They're concerned about liver and kidney damage and are running tests and labwork. Meanwhile he's on antibiotics and scheduled for the procedure Monday morning.
All of this is going to cost me about a thousand dollars that I don't have, so while I am not asking for money, anyone who wanted to donate a few dollars would certainly not be turned away at this point. (Use the "Donate to DDtM" Paypal button on the left column of the main page.) I'm going to have some financial help from my family, so the vet bill itself will be less of a problem than the rent, gas, and groceries for the rest of the month. One way or another Cosmo will be taken care of before I am--that's my responsibility as a kitty mommy. It wouldn't be the first time I've eaten plain spaghetti so my boy could have his gooshyfood. As long as he's healthy that's what matters.
What I would really appreciate are prayers, energy, or whatever your chosen faith calls such things for my fuzzbutt's healing. If he does have kidney or liver damage...well, I choose not to entertain the possibility. But I know that my readership is kind and compassionate and loves their animal kin, so I hope a few of you can spare a few words to your Deity of Choice on behalf of my sweet Cosmo, who will love you more than catnip.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Cosmo at this time. Animals are a constant source of pure honesty in our lives. Please keep us updated on his health.

Being a vet tech, I understand this issue and we've had every cat we've worked on recover 110% after the procedure and they continue to be happy and wonderful.
I'm sure Cosmo will do just fine and I'll say a prayer to the fuzzy god and goddess for your kitten.

The first thought that hit me was that he will be A-ok. I love your Cosmo fuzzbutt. You can ask for help for him anytime.

I'll say a prayer to the Lady for a swift recovery and I'll ask my kitty-boy to do the same. I'm sure he's got way more connections.

While they are not in the same camp, my Grls, Courtney and Shaina will woof a few good words to the Lady for Cosmos.
You need to know about Care Credit. It's a credit card for animal health emergencies. I learned about it when Courtney needed back surgery and applied for it at the pet hospital just before her surgery. You have a year to pay back with no interest. Hope this helps. I'd send $ if I could.
Blessings

Sunshine and I will be calling on Bast tonight. Bast brought Sunshine home after he escaped accidentally out my second story window. It took 3 days, but on the last night I woke up to his meow through my bedroom window! He ran right up the stairs and into my arms. I'm sure Bast will help Cosmo, too.
I looked at CareCredit http://www.carecredit.com/
and it looks pretty good.
Sincerely,
Rose

I'll do some energy work on Cosmo's behalf tonight.
I've gone through the teeth issue many times with one of my cats and she's going to need another one pulled soon (the vet just says she's one of those cats that doesn't have great teeth). She's recovered perfectly after every surgery and has had no troubles after. I will recommend yearly checkups for the future - that way, if a tooth is going bad, the vets can usually spot in advance before it gets to the infection stage.
Healing energy for both of you.

I understand your fears and troubles all too well. Both humans and the feline familiar in my home send you and Cosmo love and light (and prayers to the Divine). And I'm reaching out to Pandora's brother Pablo for help from the other side. May you all be well.

My 10-year old Cosmo is praying in his own kitty way for your Cosmo.
I too offer up my prayers and comfort--- poor kitty mommies (such as this humble persons) also need consoling when their babies are sick... as well as all the consolances and warm fuzzies for the darling creature(s) under our care.
