Show and Tell - Not One, But Two Cool Sites

Flower3

This week, two for the price of one:

Sera Beak, author of The Red Book (which I reviewed here a while back) has finally got her blog up and running--check it out for her entertaining and profound insights.

Spiritual Cowgirl

Also, my coven sister has a gardening blog where she answers questions about plants, soil, you-name-it; and waxes botanical on conservation, Texas weather, and all things green and growing.  Trust her advice--she can grow anything.  And does.  You should see her tomatoes.

Playing in the Dirt

(The image above is of my mother's hibiscus--she's another person who can grow anything.)

Show-And-Tell: Moon Messages

657084_full_moon I apologize for my scarcity of late; I should be back online next week.  Lest everyone think I've forgotten my blog, here's this week's recommendation:

Moon Messages, is a division of AstroWisdom.com, site of professional astrologer Lisa Dale Miller.  Each Full and New Moon Lisa writes a lovely page that sums up the astrological energies affecting the Lunar cycle for the month, and gives suggestions for ritual and personal spiritual work to take advantage of the rise and fall of the planetary tides.

The site is constructed a bit oddly, but any navigational quirks are easily overcome by the quality of the material.  Her descriptions are poetic, her suggestions both practical and inspiring.  I consult "This Full Moon" and "This New Moon" every month to get ideas for my own work as well as to keep an eye on what the hell is going on with the stars (Right now, a lot, and most of it sucks--Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Chiron are all in retrograde.  I'll be hiding under my desk if anyone needs me.).

So if you're looking for Esbat ideas, curious about astrological forces at work in the world, or simply want to come more fully into alignment with the Moon, I highly recommend Moon Messages.

A blessed Full Moon and weekend to all.

Show-and-Tell: Gratefulness.org

Breamore_06_2 Since I have grown bored with posting poetry every week, I think for a while I'll make a weekly recommendation--a website, book, et cetera that I find inspiring, thought-provoking, or fun.

This week's entry I discovered via Joanna Powell Colbert's Gaian Tarot blog:

Gratefulness.org

A site devoted to gratitude as a spiritual practice--it features a variety of meditations and exercises including a lovely virtual labyrinth walk.  I just found the site an hour ago and I'm thoroughly enjoying my explorations so far.

Surfing from Gratefulness.org, I also found an entire site devoted to labyrinths that includes several more labyrinths to follow, and photographs of labyrinths all over the world.  "Walking" these is a lot of fun--just follow the bird.
