It's been a long, arduous day at work and I'm about to fall over, a frazzled ball of stress wishing to the gods I could still have caffeine.
As such, I don't feel like writing anything serious, so rather than frazz myself further, let's talk about some things that make me smile.
~ The container of fresh pineapple, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries I have waiting in my refrigerator at home.
~ Minced ginger in a jar, which is the greatest culinary invention since minced garlic in a jar.
~ PostSecret.
~ Cut/Copy/Paste. One of those little things most people don't take the time to appreciate, but being able to move text and images all over the place with a couple of keystrokes is a small miracle that gets me every time.
~ Potato gnocchi with mushrooms and marinara. (Next cooking adventure: making them from scratch.)
~ Witches' Brew Eye of Newt incense. Most people prefer the Original scent, but I'm allergic to it. The Eye of Newt is made of the unlikely-sounding combination of sandalwood, sage, and peppermint.
~ The Firefly episode "Out of Gas." Easily one of the best hours of television ever made. Screw the Sopranos.
~ Waking up on a Sunday morning to pouring rain and distant thunder, with the blankets all warm and snuggly and Cosmo snoring at the small of my back.
~ Maroon 5's new CD, It Won't Be Soon Before Long.
